Safety Officer, Savannah
Safety Officer positions include patrol officer and fixed post officer. In both of these roles, responsibilities include deterring undesirable behaviors, writing and inputting reports, conducting visual inspections of facilities, directing traffic, responding to radio calls as needed, calling in safety concerns, completing visual inspections, and observing occurrences of areas being patrolled.
The candidate maintains a level of physical fitness that enables them to stand or walk indoors or outdoors during a shift, respond quickly to service calls, and climb or descend multiple flights of stairs.
The ideal candidate can communicate effectively, operate a motor vehicle safely, and stay calm during emergencies. The candidate understands and can follow specific instructions or procedures and has knowledge of public security codes, policies, and regulations. They are flexible, customer-service oriented, and skilled in providing protection services to individuals. Additionally, the candidate can carry out building security and lock procedures.
Please note, this position is a full-time role with 12-hour shifts.
Day Shift is 6 a.m.-6 p.m., Night Shift is 6 p.m.-6 a.m.

University Safety Operations Center Specialist, Savannah
As the university safety operations center specialist, you will direct and dispatch university safety patrol officers to areas of concerns and calls for service. You will monitor extensive CCTV system’s focusing on buildings and grounds as well as intrusion alarms. Among other duties, you will retrieve camera footage for use in court testimony and testify in criminal proceedings when necessary. You will also utilize basic crime analysis software to assist in the deployment of field personnel and manage campus transportation requests.
This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.
Please note, this position is a full-time role with 12-hour shifts.
