As an advertising and branding professor, you will guide students in developing technology-driven brand experiences, immersive storytelling, and innovative content strategies that push the boundaries of branding and marketing. You will teach the fundamentals of design and inspire students to innovate and experiment with emerging technologies. Your ability to simulate brand experiences that transcend the physical world will be crucial in helping students envision and create the future of branding.

In this role, you will demonstrate professionalism, complete all grading and academic documentation tasks, and record attendance. You will also assist with academic assessments and institutional effectiveness efforts. Occasionally, you may support departmental and university-wide initiatives by attending both in-person and virtual events such as faculty councils, admission activities, accreditation support, curriculum development, and exhibitions, among other duties. Additionally, you will carry out teaching assignments based on contact hours specified in the Employment Agreement. 

The ideal candidate combines conceptual and technical skills in branding, marketing, social strategy, design, and emerging technologies like AI/AR/VR. They are a dynamic, innovative individual with expertise in motion graphics, video, and advanced content creation. The candidate has a strong understanding of advertising, branding, and interactive design, along with hands-on experience in professional-level visual art and design production.

The candidate brings advanced knowledge of the latest platforms and technologies, enabling students to navigate and influence the evolving landscape of advertising and branding. They have an entrepreneurial mindset to help SCAD grow the department’s vision, centered on the business of content and industry partnerships.
SCAD Savannah is a sprawling campus throughout the coastal city, including one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the U.S. The city’s charming squares, well-preserved architecture, and rich history provide students, staff, and faculty with a living laboratory to study art, architecture, and design. Minimum qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in advertising, branding, computer art, or a related discipline
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in advertising, branding, and marketing, with a proven track record in creative direction, strategy, or innovation
  • Strong portfolio of brand experiences, innovation, and technology-driven storytelling
  • A passion for preparing students to navigate an evolving creative landscape

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Knowledge in creative technology, brand innovation, consumer behavior, digital trends, social-first, and motion content strategy
  • Proficiency with AI, AR/VR, spatial computing, digital transformation, interactive brand experiences, marketing, film, and social media

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Academic and professional credentials to teach advertising and branding
