As an audiovisual (AV) support specialist, you will manage the technical needs for SCAD events and classrooms and coordinate the events calendar to ensure adequate coverage. You will also provide on-site assistance for weekly events, lectures, and VIP functions. Additional duties include consultations on AV software and hardware purchases, as well as collaborations with the technology team to implement upgrades, migrations, and changes. 

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable and experienced in live audio and video switching, auto mixing on a digital console, and lighting control. They are well organized and familiar with all software and hardware standards for technical events. The candidate can support last-minute special requests, document changes to equipment configurations, and attend training workshops. They are skilled in Windows OS and Mac OS X, as well as playback for Flash, PowerPoint, QuickTime, Keynote, and other AV presentation software.

Minimum qualifications:  

  • At least five years of AV support for events in enterprise, higher education, production, or hospitality
  • Proven experience with portable and fixed AV installations and with installing AV equipment, including TVs, media players, DVD players, digital signage, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and DAs
  • Experience connecting video conferencing hardware and software clients, as well as training staff on using AV equipment and spaces
  • Basic Windows OS and Mac OS X skills, along with playback proficiency for Flash, PowerPoint, QuickTime, Keynote, and other AV presentation software

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • AV-related certifications preferred

Travel required:

  • Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
