As an associate director of enrollment, you will work alongside the director and executive director to develop departmental strategies and goals. You will lead a team of three to five assistant directors, foster relationships with applicants throughout the application and enrollment process through effective communication, and manage a high volume of incoming calls and emails each day. In doing so, you will address inquiries from students and parents regarding university policies, admissions, scholarships, financial aid, enrollment requirements, and timelines. Admission-related requirements and timelines will vary based on student type (undergraduate or graduate). Additionally, you will assist students in preparing their completed applications for review and extend personal congratulations on behalf of the university once they are admitted.

In this role, you will operate management systems to record and track applicant documents, individual contacts, and other information. You will also manage active applicant files and prioritize outreach by using reports and adviser ratings to identify students who can thrive at SCAD. Additionally, you will complete other data-driven outreach projects in an assigned area as directed by leadership. Responsibilities include telephone and Zoom appointment management via Calendly, portfolio and submitted résumé review for SCAD scholarship opportunities, and webinar and online chat support (LiveAgent). You will serve as the primary point of contact for applicants to answer questions about the federal student aid process (FAFSA) and related topics, including estimated costs to attend, budgeting, payment options, and verification. Similarly, you will provide guidance for students in need of financial support from external scholarship resources. You will also prepare deposit-paid students for enrollment with proactive communication and encourage them to pay their balances by the published due dates.

In this position, you will stay informed about all SCAD policies and procedures to provide accurate information about programs of study, locations, housing, transfer credits, class registration, student services, and more. You will encourage applicants to visit the university and meet with them and their families during these visits to discuss their interests and address any questions they may have. Some travel will be necessary to support off-campus recruitment opportunities and accepted student celebrations. Additionally, you will participate in special events and occasionally cover Saturday admission shifts to assist with campus visitation.

The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills. This candidate shows outstanding attention to detail and strategic thinking, enabling them to achieve departmental goals. They should work efficiently under pressure and can maintain a positive attitude, shifting focus quickly.
