As a graduate degree coordinator, you will manage student onboarding and records, including the maintenance of an intensive course offering map, transfer credit processing, and individual degree audits. This includes the facilitation of seamless transitions for students moving from undergraduate to graduate programs. You will document graduate candidacy reviews and thesis grades, maintain accurate student records, and oversee records for compliance with graduation requirements. Other responsibilities include thesis coordination, which involves the creation of individual thesis course sections, registration for incomplete theses, grade processing, and the generation of quarterly thesis completion rates.

In this role, you will report to the assistant registrar to support policy implementation, which includes maintaining records for graduate continuous enrollment, tracking five-year completion deadlines, and processing academic dismissals and reinstatements. You will manage the readmission process to ensure compliance with institutional policies. Institutional policy-related compliance responsibilities include the organization of payments and graduate coordinator assignments, communication management, and workflow optimization. Duties will also include training, workshop, and report assistance and the arrangement of new faculty coordinators to join the team.

You will also help plan and organize the annual Graduation Expo and collaborate with various academic departments to compile student honors, including the valedictorian and salutatorian recognition list. You will support other commencement activities and aid the graduate graduation auditor. In the office, you will maintain a professional environment, contribute to the office of registrar services, and develop a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures for effective communication. Additional duties may be assigned. 

The ideal candidate is highly organized and thrives in a team environment. Additionally, they are a detail-oriented problem solver with exemplary written and verbal communication skills. 

Minimum qualifications:      

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Experienced with customer service in high volume situations

Preferred qualifications:      

  • Prior experience working with students in a higher education
  • Experience using Banner, Degree Works, and Microsoft Excel

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel required:  

  • Less than 10%   

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
