As a student employment coordinator, you will manage online vacancies and new-position set-ups. You will track position updates, statuses, and timesheet access in Banner, JobX, PageUp, and Guardian. Responsibilities include the completion of student onboarding and I-9 sessions for new student employees to explain SCAD and federal policies related to work-study programs, the oversight of prompt and accurate communications, and administration of all necessary applications and forms for position approvals to ensure accuracy and compliance. Among other duties, you will participate in presentations at workshops, orientations, and information sessions for on-campus student employees.

In this position, you will work in Microsoft Excel to monitor, track, and analyze student employment data for reports. You will troubleshoot advanced timekeeping or payroll discrepancies in the web time entry system and use best practices to manage an organized file system for student employment reports, correspondences, and materials in adherence with federal and university policies. Additionally, you will complete student employment verifications and review policies and procedures to recommend and implement improvements. You will also manage all employment-related requests, complete and track student employment verifications, and conduct regular reviews of student employment policies and procedures.

In this role, you will serve as the department liaison to answer staff, faculty, and student employment questions and collaborate on the development of workshop presentations, orientations, and other informational sessions for on-campus student employees. You will approve new positions and hires as well as employment terminations and notify supervisors of students who no longer meet work-study eligibility requirements. Responsibilities include oversight of off-campus employment opportunities for community-based positions, organization and participation in annual supervisor training seminars, and the optimization of tracking processes for vacancies, timesheet access, and position updates. 

The successful candidate is customer service-oriented and can multitask while adapting to shifting priorities. The candidate possesses strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills. They can also track and analyze data to generate reports, troubleshoot technical issues, and meet deadlines. The candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be detail-oriented and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
  • Understanding payroll systems and timekeeping software
  • Experience in coordinating events (workshops and training seminars)

Travel Required:  

  • Less than 10%    

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
