As a photography production assistant, you will contribute to the visual media department's photographic success and reputation. You will assist on shoots that contribute to SCAD's largest global marketing campaigns, strengthen the reputations of signature events, increase national outreach, and drive attendance by promoting the unique opportunities available to current and prospective students. You will assist with shoots for digital and print press materials. You will also work with photography producers, the photography director, and the SCAD legal department to facilitate and secure all required project paperwork.

In this role, you will collaborate with the visual media video team to capitalize on shoots that benefit both teams. You will work with internal resources, including building managers, design directors, professors, and students to ensure all locations and shoot elements are properly prepared and broken down. You will assist with researching, scouting, and assessing ideas for requested photos; commission vendors for shoots; and organize schedules and call sheets. You will also assist with live events, troubleshoot issues, and adhere to deadlines.

The successful candidate is meticulous, detail-oriented, and highly organized. They must also be personable in order to work with high-profile visiting artists, shy students, and busy staff and faculty members. The candidate must be able to carry out the university's overall mission of preparing talented students for careers in art and design within a positively oriented environment.

Minimum Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's degree or experience in photography, film, and/or television production
  • Available to work outside of office hours, including weekends or holidays
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Experience with Microsoft, Adobe, and Capture One software as well as photography equipment

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Access to a personal vehicle

Travel Required:  

  •   10–20%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
