As the Professor of Dramatic Writing, focusing in Feature Film Screenwriting, you will use your academic and professional knowledge as well as experience to be instrumental in guiding aspiring writers on their journey to mastery. You will be required to instruct students at both the introductory and advanced levels.  Your role involves meticulously planning and delivering engaging lessons that adhere to course objectives and standards while cultivating an environment that ignites creativity and active participation. Providing insightful feedback to students to nurture their growth and progress will be a cornerstone of your responsibilities. You'll be tasked with crafting syllabi that meet departmental and institutional requirements, conducting mid-term evaluations, and offering additional support sessions to ensure student success.

Upholding the highest standards of professionalism, you'll handle grading, attendance, and compliance with academic policies with precision. Beyond the classroom, you'll contribute to faculty meetings and institutional events; curriculum assessment and enhancements; institutional effectiveness and accreditation support; and any other events, exhibitions, or publicity assignments and continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth. Your passion for screenwriting and dedication to student development will be key in shaping the future generation of storytellers

 

Minimum Qualifications:      

  • Terminal degree or equivalent in production design or related field  
  • Academic and professional credentials to teach in the field 
  • Experience in or knowledge of related professions 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level  

Travel Required:  

  • Less than 10%   

Work Hours:
As noted in the Employment Agreement.
