As a quality manager, you will regularly inspect building areas and grounds to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and overall quality. You will identify and document any areas that require improvement, notify stakeholders to address issues, enter work orders as needed, and follow up on issues for prompt resolution. Under the direction of the director of operations and quality, you will coordinate with vendors and contractors to complete repairs and improvements.

In this position, you will work closely with physical resources, housekeeping, groundskeeping, maintenance, and other departments to address quality issues and implement solutions. You will conduct on-site observations and interactions to assess user experiences; promptly address issues; and resolve student, staff, and faculty concerns to evaluate satisfaction and identify areas for improvement. You will also effectively communicate with building administrative staff and management to ensure consistent and complete cross-departmental communication channels and foster a culture of quality.

You will maintain detailed inspections and corrective action records and prepare comprehensive reports on quality and compliance issues. You will assist in developing and supporting quality assurance documentation and procedures. You will work with the design group to create a style guide for each SCAD property. You will assist in developing and implementing training programs and development initiatives to enhance service quality and performance. You will also identify opportunities for process improvements and stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to improve quality control. Additionally, you will train and guide staff, vendors, and contractors on those practices.

The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in evaluating service quality and operational standards and understanding quality inspection processes. They will have outstanding customer service, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. The candidate can use quality inspection tools and software and be comfortable working independently or collaboratively.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with quality inspection processes and customer service standards
  • Proficiency in evaluating service quality and operational standards
  • Ability to use quality inspection tools and software

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field
  • Experience in hospitality management, quality assurance, or a related role

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS) or other industry-recognized credentials 

Travel Required:

  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
