In this teaching position, you will be required to plan and prepare comprehensive lessons, maintain an active and engaging classroom environment that accommodates various learning styles, and provide timely feedback to support students' academic progress. You will be responsible for syllabus design and submission for approval, holding office hours, and conducting midterm grade reviews. You will offer extra-help sessions, suggest extended learning opportunities, and lead study trips. Additionally, you will conduct course- and program-level assessments with support from academic leadership. You will balance teaching aesthetic (e.g., design principles and animation techniques), technical (e.g., software instruction in animation and compositing), and professional skills (e.g., communication and self-promotion).

The position involves demonstrating professionalism, fulfilling grading and academic documentation requirements, recording attendance, adhering to academic policies and procedures, and supporting academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts. Additional responsibilities include attending on-site and virtual events, such as faculty meetings and admissions initiatives, assessing and developing curricula, and participating in activities, exhibitions, or publicity tasks.  

Minimum Qualifications:   

  • Terminal degree in a relevant field  
  • Academic and professional credentials to teach motion media design
  • Experience in or knowledge of related professions    

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level  
  • Experience with real-time technologies such as Unreal Engine or Notch
  • Experience with interactive motion design such as TouchDesigner

Travel Required: Less than 10%     

Work Hours: As noted in the employment agreement.
