As an employee development coordinator, you will collaborate with the assistant director of employee development to support projects that align learning and development solutions for faculty, staff, and other university leaders. This will involve assisting with the design, completion, and evaluation of training, workshops, and leadership programs, as well as coaching and mentorships. You will provide administrative and project support to the HR employee development and employee performance and success manager (EPSM) teams, including onboarding, offboarding, position updates, and record keeping. Administrative support will encompass calendar management, event coordination, onboarding/offboarding, record maintenance, project management tracking, and communication. Related responsibilities include tracking and processing employee exits, pay substitutions, and job description pulls.

In this role, you will provide front desk support and serve as the initial point of contact for visitors to the HR department. You will facilitate ongoing communication with new hires through SCAD Start, which includes scheduled emails and surveys. Additionally, you will maintain the SCAD learning library, ensure the completion of annual required training, and coordinate program logistics such as schedules, supplies, room reservations, catering, transportation, and employee experience. Responsibilities include the coordination of orientation materials, presenter schedules, and itinerary and inventory supply management. Among other duties, you will use ecommerce, travel, and expense systems to process travel reimbursements and resource requests.

The ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment. They also demonstrate influential abilities to effectively engage with audiences across all leadership levels. The candidate is capable of learning new computer systems, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring confidentiality. They are disciplined and honest, exhibiting integrity in their work. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential.

Minimum qualifications:      

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least five years of experience in training, event planning, higher education, or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrated, end-to-end project and/or program management experience
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office skills

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record

Travel required:  

  •   Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
