As a technology specialist, you will perform troubleshooting and repair procedures on computer software, hardware, and classroom audio/video equipment while documenting all work performed. You will also provide client support for various network services, including email and Internet access. In this role, you will also be responsible for performing computer software and hardware installations and upgrades, maintaining the computer asset inventory for areas assigned, and providing on-site audio/video support for weekly events.

The successful candidate has experience with Windows, Mac, and/or Linux operating systems and with complex academic computer lab environments (i.e., Android and iOS devices, smart TVs, consumer game consoles, lock-down kits, and classroom A/V). Experience working with virtual environments and/or workstations is desirable, as is exposure to configuring, deploying, securing, and monitoring Windows or Mac operating system deployments.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience or training
• Familiarity with Apple- and Windows-based hardware and software support
• Ability to carry monitors and central processing units
• Ability to attend training workshops and events outside of regular business hours

Preferred qualifications:

• Exposure to working with and configuring visual effects, game design, and animation software such as Maya, Houdini, and Unreal Engine
• Any artistic background or interest

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license

Travel required: Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
