Assistant Director of SCAD Study Abroad and Off Campus Programs

As an assistant director for study abroad and off-campus programs, you will collaborate, inform, and work effectively with academic support services to ensure a positive student experience. You will manage the study abroad office in Savannah, oversee all outreach, and assist with student registration for Lacoste. Responsibilities include collaborations with the study abroad coordinator on logistical arrangements, program effectiveness assessments, and the review of evaluation surveys to implement corrective actions when necessary. Among other duties, you will enhance and define clear procedures to ensure the successful implementation of off-campus programming.

In this role, you will oversee student selection, admission, and enrollment. You will also manage the off-campus scholarship process in collaboration with the institutional advancement team. Responsibilities include the training and supervision of study abroad coordinators, student ambassadors, and staff. Additionally, you will prepare students for successful off-campus experiences, provide quarterly updates to academic services stakeholders, and work on enhancing the study abroad website for viewers. Among other duties, you will conduct US-based faculty and student pre-departure orientations and travel to other SCAD locations as needed to work with staff.

Minimum qualifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in higher education, preferably in a student advisement role
  • Travel or event planning work experience

Preferred qualifications:      

  • Experience studying abroad or travelling internationally

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel required:  

  •  20–40%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
