As an assistant manager, you will supervise baristas and work-study students while effectively communicating with staff to uphold a high standard of store operations. You will assist with staff training, which includes customer service and product knowledge. You will promote successful work performance through respectful and constructive feedback. You will maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment to ensure fast and friendly service. Additionally, you will proactively use your customer service skills and management oversight experience to resolve issues.

In this role, you will estimate food and beverage costs and requisition or purchase supplies. You will review financial transactions to ensure that operations remain within budget. While on shift, you will be responsible for funds and ensuring that all cash-handling procedures are followed. You will collaborate with personnel to plan menus and activities, including dining room, bar, and banquet operations. You will oversee the food preparation process to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations, addressing and resolving food quality and service complaints as needed. Additionally, you will manage the hostess stand to ensure an efficient service flow.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree or at least one year of related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of both

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Barista experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Approval to drive a SCAD vehicle

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
