As a manager at Lucas Café and Pâtisserie, you will oversee all daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, food and beverage service, and inventory management. You will hire, train, and supervise staff while promoting a positive, efficient, and inclusive environment. Additionally, you will schedule staff based on the theater event schedule. Responsibilities include budget management, sales tracking, and the creation of regular performance and improvement reports. Among other duties, you will maintain a high standard of food and beverage quality, cleanliness, and customer service.

In this role, you will help develop a seasonal menu and collaborate with vendors to source fresh and sustainable ingredients and distributors. You will also ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling regulations. Among other duties, you will create a welcoming environment for guests that reflects the theater’s artistic identity and work closely with leadership to align the café with its overall vision.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and team management skills. They are also a proven leader with a passion for hospitality and the arts. The candidate can also work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Minimum qualifications:      

  • At least two years of café, restaurant, or food-service management
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic accounting practices 

Preferred qualifications:      

  • Knowledge of local Savannah food and beverage culture
    Experience in an event-based or arts-related food service setting

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification or willingness to obtain   

Work hours: As noted in the Employment Agreement.
