You will be responsible for syllabus design, submission, and approval; holding office hours and conducting midterm grade reviews; providing extra-help sessions, extended-learning opportunities, and field trips; and conducting course and program-level assessments.   

The position entails modeling professionalism, fulfilling grading and academic documentation requirements, recording attendance, following academic policies and regulations, and supporting academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts. Other responsibilities include attending on-ground and virtual events, such as faculty meetings and admission events; curriculum assessment and development; institutional effectiveness and accreditation support; and any other events, exhibitions, or publicity assignments.     

Minimum Qualifications:      

  • Terminal degree in illustration or a related field or 10+ years of industry experience
  • Academic and professional credentials to teach concept art and visual development
  • Experienced concept artist and/or visual development artist in video game, animation, or related field with proficiency in 3D modeling with an industry-standard program such as ZBrush, Blender, Unreal Engine 
  • Skilled in Adobe Photoshop
  • Able to teach industry-standard methods of ideation, iteration, paint overs, and current requirements of visual developers in game and animation 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level 

Travel Required:  

  • Less than 10%
