As an academic initiatives manager, you will lead and coordinate various academic initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation at each stage of the project. You will oversee logistics, manage timelines, and maintain a high standard of aesthetic quality in all presentations. You will curate student artwork presentations across all SCAD Atlanta buildings that enhance visibility and align with SCAD’s design standards. You will also regularly inspect display areas, assess facility conditions, and coordinate necessary adjustments or repairs by working with multiple trades to optimize presentations.

In this role, you will collaborate with industry leaders and academic operations managers. You will develop and coordinate unique academic trips and events, providing students with valuable networking opportunities and practical industry insights. You will serve as a primary support resource for faculty, academic leaders, and executive administration on high-priority projects, providing expert visual presentation and design standards guidance. You will also maintain the SCAD brand's consistency across academic projects, working with the creative direction team to uphold design standards.

The successful candidate has a keen understanding of design principles and the ability to create visually impactful presentations. The candidate should have exceptional visual design skills, impeccable taste, and a strong eye for detail and design quality. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various university stakeholders and industry partners are also necessary for this position.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • At least three years of related professional experience, including project management in an academic, cultural, or design-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Background in graphic design, interior design, visual arts, or curation

Travel Required:

  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
