11 Month Salaried Staff FT

SCAD Savannah seeks an experienced accommodation support specialist to provide services to all eligible students at SCAD, including in the SCADnow online learning environment, and to offer support and consultation to staff, faculty, and parents.

In this full-time role, you will consult with academic departments, residence life, registrar’s office, academic affairs, admissions, and more as needed regarding disability and accommodation issues. You will determine academic adjustments and reasonable accommodations based on student document and Section 504/ADA guidelines, maintain an active caseload of students with documented disabilities, and provide students with community referrals as needed. You will participate in university-wide efforts to improve access for students with mobility impairments, serve as a resource to the college in areas of adaptive computer technology, and attend weekly case conferences.

As an accommodation support specialist, you will monitor and update the disability services database, conduct outreach and psychoeducational programming, document student contact in the Titanium computer documentation system, and participate in quarterly student orientations. Among other duties, you will also maintain a personal and master schedule, participate in departmental performance-improvement initiatives, and prepare PRs for supervisor signatures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, counselor education, psychology, special education, social work, or related field work
  • Two to five years of experience in higher education environments preferred

Certificates, licenses and registrations: Preference for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credentials

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
