As an architectural designer, you will work within the dynamic team environment of the SCAD University Design Group, characterized by award-winning projects across education, dining, student housing, exhibition and event design, and beyond. The ideal candidate has experience in all phases of the design process, including conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

In this role, you will collaborate with design team members, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives. As you use AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp to draft design drawings and 3D models, you will also produce graphic presentations and provide construction specifications, schedules, budgets, and other details. In addition to a high level of technical skill and applicable experience, the candidate should be proactive, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with a focus on creating life-changing experiences for SCAD students.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Five to eight years of related professional experience
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D software, including Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) or Registered Architect (RA)

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Passport

Travel required: 10–20%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
