As the assistant director of admission, you will evaluate and implement strategies and initiatives to support the recruitment and successful enrollment of SCADnow students while sharing the recruitment strategy with the domestic and international recruitment teams. In this position you will oversee the development and delivery of monthly virtual events for SCADnow prospects and applicants, provide individual guidance for students who express interest, discuss admission requirements and enrollment timelines, and prepare completed applications for admission review and congratulate accepted students on their admission. Responsibilities include operating the management systems to record and track applicant documents, individual contacts, and other relevant information; maintaining daily telephone/Zoom appointment schedule; and managing active applicant files.

In the role of assistant director, you will host one-on-one meetings with students in the admission funnel to provide information, serve as the primary financial aid point-of-contact for applicants to answer all related questions, and train staff on points related to online learning and SCADnow. You will be expected to stay up to date and share pertinent information on technology changes in the SCADnow environment with admission staff and students, answer inquiries on the Unibuddy platform, and supervise SCADnow Graduate Fellows on outreach initiatives to support recruitment initiatives. Responsibilities in this position include receiving and handling a large volume of daily communications and questions from prospective students, collaborating with department leaders to support applicant outreach, staffing Live Agent shifts, preparing internal quarterly and annual reports of all recruitment activities, and monitoring weekly and daily reports for prospective student outreach.

You must remain knowledgeable of all university policies and procedures to effectively communicate accurate information about the university; support admission events on campus and off-site; and participate in SCAD Days, Spotlight Days, and Accepted Student Celebrations. You may be asked to perform other duties to ensure the department's success and to carry out the university's mission.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree with exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organization skills
  • Knowledge of online applications like Blackboard and Zoom
  • Public speaking experience
  • Ability to travel and work nights or evenings

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • SCAD experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver's license

Travel required: 10% to 20%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
