Assistant directors of admission (ADAs) travel the world to build meaningful relationships with remarkable students, families, educators, and counselors — and show them how SCAD is the ultimate destination to launch the future and career of their dreams. As an ADA, you'll explain the unrivaled resources we offer to prospective students across all university locations.

 

Part of an extraordinary team of SCADvocates, you’ll:

  • Travel to effectively represent SCAD to prospective and applied students at strategically selected high school and university events, information sessions, and more
  • Deliver creative classroom presentations that engage students, meet individually with students to provide information about the application process and supporting documents, and offer portfolio counseling
  • Ensure timely follow-up communications with prospective students to discuss their interests and answer questions, guarantee the highest proportion of right-fit students, and facilitate a successful college search for students
  • Lead information sessions and related activities for parents, teachers, and counselors; build ongoing professional and institutional relationships; and increase positive awareness of SCAD in the assigned region
  • Facilitate a successful college search for students, maintain professional conduct in accordance with NACAC guidelines, and collaborate with the office for career and alumni success (CAS) to implement SCAD alumni and parent ambassadors in recruitment efforts

 

In support of the department’s mission, you’ll:

  • Select participants, invite them to attend the SCAD Educator Forum, and serve as the official host; meet with visiting prospective students; and lead tours
  • Monitor regular application and enrollment reports to evaluate activity effectiveness, assist with admitted and deposit paid calls, and attend award ceremonies to announce scholarship winners
  • Manage student, parent, teacher, and counselor information in Salesforce in compliance with FERPA; research, enter, and update all travel management data; and promptly enter all planned, confirmed, and completed events into the master recruitment calendar
  • Create and maintain an individual travel calendar through Outlook; provide access to the regional director, executive director, and assistant to the executive director; and assist with summer programs
  • Cover LivePerson shifts

Additionally, you’ll:

  • Attend summer and winter staff training in Savannah and Atlanta, mentor new staff, and share relevant information
  • Stay up to date with university policies, events, accolades, and programs of study through the SCAD catalog, website, social media outlets, newsletters, videos,
  • Develop a strong partnership with admission advisers to involve them in recruitment activities
  • Regularly provide feedback and ideas to admission leadership
  • Volunteer for and participate in special events (e.g., SCAD Days)

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Demonstrates excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Can maintain flexibility throughout the recruitment year

 

Minimum qualifications:      

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Ability to regularly work evenings and weekends

 

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:   

  • Valid driver's license

 

Travel required:  

  • Over 50%    

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
