As an assistant manager for Bobbie’s, the newest restaurant in SCAD’s dining collection, you will coordinate food service activities and supervise baristas and work-study students, communicating clearly to maintain high standards of store operations. You will assist in training, customer service, product knowledge, and education, while maintaining safe work practices. You will also reinforce successful performance and provide constructive, respectful, and encouraging feedback as needed. Responsibilities include the maintenance of a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment and the estimation of food and beverage costs and requisitions or purchases. Among other duties, you will review financial transactions and monitor budgets to ensure efficient operations and that expenditures stay within budget limitations.

In this role, you will assist the store manager in maintaining a positive environment that delivers fast, efficient, and friendly service to customers and co-workers. Among other duties, you will proactively resolve customer issues across a variety of situations, be accountable for store funds during a shift, and ensure all financial handling procedures are followed. You will also confer with the food preparation team and other personnel to plan daily menus and creative features.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills and has management oversight experience.

Minimum qualifications:  

  • At least one year of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Travel required:

  • Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
