12 Month Hourly Staff FT

SCAD Atlanta seeks an experienced, full-time assistant to the associate dean of academics to provide comprehensive and professional administrative support.

In this role, you will serve as a liaison between the dean and various departments throughout the university. You will schedule appointments, maintain the dean’s calendar, record minutes for meetings, and track departmental budgets and purchase requisitions. You will coordinate and arrange conference calls, meetings, travel requests and schedules, and reservations; conduct research and compile information into weekly and quarterly reports; and analyze and organize office operations and procedures (e.g., screening phone calls, assisting with inquiries, receiving and greeting visitors, faculty audits and peer observations).

As the assistant, you will also prioritize all written departmental communication and business as it relates to the dean. You will coordinate with the director of faculty recruitment on all new faculty interviews, prepare faculty rosters, and supervise work-study students. You will order supplies and ensure equipment is maintained, and, among other duties, will assist with the organization, management, and promotion of select signature events.

The successful candidate demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills and exhibits a commitment to honesty, discipline, integrity, and confidentiality. An eye for detail and accuracy is essential, and the candidate should possess advanced project- and people-management abilities. Always punctual and professional, the candidate is highly organized and responsive and is able to manage multiple priorities with ease. The ability to thrive as both an individual and team-based contributor is also a must

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in a relevant discipline
  • Two years of related administrative support experience

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
