As an assistant director, you will be the primary liaison between SCAD SERVE and community organizations in Atlanta and Savannah, Ga., as well as serve as a front-line reviewer when organizations propose partnerships with the university. You will support the director and senior executive director with design-for-good initiatives and SCAD Farms, and will collaboratively support GOOD 560 Design for Good course electives with other SCAD SERVE staff and university faculty. You will lead large departmental signature events (e.g., Buzz Bus, SCAD POP, etc.), organize volunteer and service initiatives for the entire SCAD community, and manage the Galaxy digital web solution leveraged for all SCAD SERVE initiatives.
Among other duties, you will create marketing and communication strategies for departmental programming, liaise with academic and student services departments for ongoing education and outreach, and assist in the tracking, management, and use of the SCAD SERVE budget and spending. You will also conduct regular assessments, supervise and train SCAD SERVE fellows, and submit work orders for the department.
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
