As a graduate thesis coordinator, you will assist with thesis application reviews and approvals, register students for their thesis courses, facilitate committee changes, and arrange classroom visits. You will work closely with the graduate success team and the registrar to ensure timely registration and submission processes, manage the thesis proposal award program, and complete quarterly data reports and comparisons to share with other offices. Additionally, you will review, approve, and provide feedback on submitted theses and record all relevant information in Banner for the creation and distribution of thesis completion reports. Among other duties, you will lead quarterly presentations on thesis information at graduate student orientations, as well as provide students and thesis chairs with resources for thesis completion.

In this role, you will collaborate with department deans, chairs, and faculty across the university to connect SCAD graduate students to world-class industry talent. You will coordinate annual updates to thesis guidelines, develop workshops that educate faculty members about their thesis committee requirements and expectations, and manage content and enrollment on the GraduateCoordinators@SCAD and THES 007 Thesis Support Blackboard pages.

Minimum qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to travel to other SCAD locations as needed

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience with event coordination

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel required:

  • Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
