As an audio/visual support specialist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating A/V equipment at events, maintaining classroom equipment, assisting faculty with classroom equipment, and installing equipment and cabling for the entire Savannah location. You will also be an operator and troubleshooter for all levels of SCAD presentation efforts in a performance space, like public speaking events, live music venues, and teleconferencing.

Daily duties include managing inventories of A/V assets; creating equipment lists, floor plans, and rack and console elevations; keeping equipment and college vehicles in good condition; and adhering to all OSHA guidelines and safe practices. Other duties include attending production meetings, managing service requests, preparing and presenting staff reports, and ensuring optimal use of conference rooms and other multimedia IT resources.

The successful candidate has industry experience, especially with background in the setup and operation of live events, combined with strong customer service skills.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, broadcast technology, or a related field
  • At least one year of experience with A/V equipment
  • Experience with A/V hookup and disassembly and the workflow for live A/V venues and outdoor shows

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license

Travel required: Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
