As the baker your responsibilities include closely following daily lists, cleaning equipment, preparing multiple mixes according to recipes, producing and applying decorations to product, and assisting in taking inventory. You must be able to maintain standards in terms of sales and quality, coordinate multiple tasks in a timely manner, and communicate well verbally as well as understand and follow written and verbal instructions. The baker is expected to maintain a clean and orderly environment, process payments, track expiry dates, create visually appealing displays, have knowledge of food and health industry regulations, and use strong customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • One to two years of baking experience or trade school certification
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task while remaining calm and positive in high-volume and high-pressure situations

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
