As the head coach of golf, you will teach, coach, and instruct golf student-athletes to enhance their understanding of the sport. You will engage in successful community relations to foster a positive perception of SCAD athletics and the golf team among SCAD students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include injury/emergency protocol establishment, creation and implementation of assessments to evaluate the potential of student-athletes, and communication with students, parents, and physicians to determine eligibility or ineligibility. Additionally, you will set training standards, oversee competition schedules, and conduct organized practice sessions. As necessary, you will also organize, promote, and implement SCAD sports camps.
In this role, you will recruit compatible new student-athletes and implement strategies that enable players to graduate in four years and pursue rewarding careers. Responsibilities include encouraging retention and addressing unsatisfactory issues related to the golf program. You will hold regular office hours throughout the calendar year, attend university events as available, foster a positive atmosphere within the SCAD athletics department, and maintain an enthusiastic approach toward job duties and the university. Other duties may be assigned at any time.
The ideal candidate has proven leadership abilities and can cultivate effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment. They also demonstrate excellent communication skills and a commitment to student development.

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
