As a business reporting analyst III, your role will involve providing intermediate analysis, design, development, and testing of end-user reporting needs. You will be responsible for completing ad hoc requests and assisting high-level, end-users in understanding, troubleshooting, and finding solutions to their needs. You will define and maintain documentation of assigned reporting requests per documentation standards, work to support a broad user base and assist in the testing and implementation of software upgrades. Additionally, you will manage the Cognos program to develop and maintain packages and security.

The successful candidate will work effectively on quick-paced project timelines and priorities set by senior technical staff. The candidate must work well in a team and on their own to support a broad user base. They should be well-versed in PCs, programming techniques, system design principles, and concepts of database programming, as well as Windows, Oracle, and structured query language (SQL) knowledge. The ability to multitask is essential. Required skills also include data analysis and reporting, problem-solving, organization, and communication.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • B.S. in computer science or B.A. in business administration with a concentration in management information systems or a related discipline
  • Three years of experience providing support to the development of application systems
  • Knowledge of personal computers, computer programming techniques, system design principles, and concepts of database programming
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Oracle, and SQL

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Cognos 8 or newer release/series of report-writing products
  • Knowledge of Banner, Cognos, Power BI dashboards, or other reporting tools

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
