As a career and alumni success (CAS) social media manager, you will elevate SCAD’s social media reputation to increase followers and engagement, and create a content strategy for digital media platforms that demonstrate brand value. This content will provide examples of SCAD employer relationships, student and alumni talent, faculty and career advisers with industry insight, and personalized career coaching. You will also attend key employer visits or events and identify potential partners to produce collaborative content for all audiences (i.e., students, alumni, employers).

In this position, you will provide support assets, mentions, and tags on content to career advisers and industry and alumni specialists to amplify their voices. You will manage which accounts SCAD follows on all social media platforms to ensure key influencers and industry leaders are included, respond to comments, field requests, and manage LinkedIn alumni group access to connect followers with relevant career services. You will also share relevant content from SCAD, alumni, and employer accounts that focus on SCAD industry connections, jobs, and alumni recognition. 

Among other duties, you will share alumni and student accolades on Instagram and in newsletters, particularly those working at well-known companies that have won high-profile awards or who have been featured in major publications. You will maintain a photo archive of approved images for social media and communication use and recommend strategies for cross-promotional opportunities across platforms, newsletters, and other digital media.  You will also leverage various platforms to target student and alumni populations for increased event participation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational, communication, collaboration, and project management skills. They will be able to prioritize and manage projects efficiently. The candidate will also be capable of measuring social media outcomes regarding engagement and reach.

Minimum Qualifications:      

  • Bachelor's degree in social strategy, advertising, graphic design, or related discipline
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in creating and managing content and communities across multiple social media accounts
  • Proficient in Canva, Instagram, LinkedIn, and CapCut or other video editing tool
  • Experience working within an innovative, fast-paced, and professional environment

Preferred Qualifications:      

  • Knowledge of SCAD departments and communication channels

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel Required:  

  •  Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
