As a chef de cuisine, you will develop, implement, train, and maintain systems for culinary staff. You will regularly create menus, recipes, and daily specials while managing labor, food, and operating cost budgets. In the kitchen, you will ensure product presentation and flavor consistency. Your responsibilities will include staff supervision, employee performance evaluations, and completing on- and -off-site catering for VIP events. You will also manage food orders and receivables, inventory management, and invoice processing. Among other duties, you will work closely with the general manager and front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional service.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player and demonstrates effective communication, organization, and leadership skills. They will be adept at building and maintaining a positive, detail-oriented work environment and able to use independent judgment and discretion. A flexible schedule to accommodate business levels is required.

Preferred Qualifications:      

  • At least five years of kitchen management experience in a semi casual dining environment 

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • ServSafe certificate for federal and local safety and health regulations

Travel Required:  

  •   Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
