As a circulation specialist for SCAD, the University for Creative Careers, you will deliver exceptional library services to students, faculty, and staff, including lending and receiving of materials, providing course reserve and research assistance, and troubleshooting library technology. You'll contribute to library-wide projects and initiatives; support the processing, organization, and maintenance of SCAD Libraries' diverse collection; and ensure a smooth and seamless operation and availability of library services.

In this role, you'll carry out the library account maintenance, open and close the library, and be proactive in ensuring library equipment is in great condition — and well-stocked for patron use. Among other duties, you'll also provide on-demand circulation and reference assistance, support the collection of library statistics, and help maintain a clean environment in SCAD Libraries' spaces.

The person in this position will report to the global services librarian.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to use library information systems, manage resources, and use the Library of Congress call number system for shelving books
  • Ability to work nights and weekends

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous library experience
  • Undergraduate degree in an area of study offered at SCAD

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
