As the community director, you will manage the implementation of community programs and supervise a staff of nine to 16 students. You will assist in the selection and training of resident assistants, coordinate hall openings and closings, and serve as a conduct officer for students who have allegedly violated the code of conduct. In this position you will be on call for a campus of 3,600 students and manage the residence hall budget.

This is a full-time, year-round, live-in professional staff position integral to the success of the department. Community directors manage all aspects of their assigned area, including staffing, programming, and maintenance. Through your interactions and day-to-day work, you will serve as an educator, resource, and referral agent. This position is identified as essential personnel in case of emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree, or comparable experience, in higher education or related field
  • Prior experience in group living or college setting

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Residence life and housing experience as a graduate student

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
