As a SCAD content creator, you will shoot creative lifestyle and environmental video and photography according to assigned deadlines. You will work with creative departments on special projects involving film, motion graphics, and multimedia, as well as assess equipment needs and repairs. Among other duties, you will perform scheduled maintenance of all production equipment, complete production reports, and maintain accurate records. You will complete detailed notes about shoots to identify subjects with the correct spelling, footage shot, and dates on each file for archival purposes. You will approach assignments with enthusiasm and creativity and communicate with influencers and students about user-generated video content production. Additionally, you will collaborate with the social media manager on TikTok content to ideate, shoot, edit, and post quickly. 

The ideal candidate understands visual storytelling and elevated imagery and is well versed in fashion, art, design and other areas that SCAD teaches. They can continually research social media trends, seek out inspiration, and provide recommendations on keeping SCAD's video content at the level of quality expected from a leader in the art and design community. The candidate should have a working knowledge of the latest shooting styles, techniques, and equipment and can maintain contemporary, creative, and technical skills.

Minimum qualifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in content creation for social media and other online platforms
  • Experience in communications and media studies, photography and film and television, information technology and multimedia, or broadcasting
  • Familiarity with video and photographic processing, editing, and distribution formats
  • Ability to work outside regular office hours, weekends, and holidays and to travel domestically and internationally on short notice

Travel required:  

  • 10–20%   

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
