Employee Classification: 12 Month Salaried Staff FT
As a counselor, you will maintain an active caseload of students, offering individual and group counseling and, as needed, provide community referrals and crisis intervention. You will develop outreach and psychoeducational programming and presentations, and consult with university departments as necessary. Among other duties, you will also participate in quarterly student orientations, maintain a personal schedule, document all student contact in Titanium, and inform your supervisor of personal staff development needs.
The successful candidate is enthusiastic about and experienced in working with clients from diverse backgrounds and demonstrates a commitment to ongoing multicultural competence. The candidate should also be committed to upholding the highest levels of privacy and confidentiality. Ideally, the candidate has experience working in a college counseling center.
Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, or psychology
Three to five years of experience (post-licensure preferred)
Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Must be a fully licensed mental health professional. Acceptable licenses may include the following:
Licensed Psychologist (Ph.D.)
Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Associate Professional Counselor (APC)
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
