The SCAD department of institutional effectiveness seeks a data visualization designer to join its growing team in Savannah.

In this position, you will create, advocate for, and advance visual and graphic solutions for communicating data and information to university stakeholders. You will collaborate with others across academic and non-academic departments to develop visualizations that make data from various sources meaningful, useful, and accessible. You will also use historical and current trends in information and presentation design technology (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) to create stunning, visual representations of data.

The ideal candidate should be a highly creative visual thinker with a background and resume that stands out, preferably with web design and international work or education experience. The candidate should be comfortable behind the computer, working well as part of a team or as an individual when creating effective, interesting, and fresh visual content. The candidate should also demonstrate confidence when collaborating with and providing counsel to department leadership and other team members.

Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree in graphic design or a related field
• Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote
• MS Office
• Visual storytelling experience
• Knowledge of data visualization methodologies and user theory
• Experience creating elegant data and information designs

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience creating layout design
• Web design, HTML, interactive experience
• Strong listening skills
• International work or education experience
• Ability to brainstorm and develop solutions with different user groups
• Demonstrates proficiency of Adobe creative suite and presentation software, and is able to direct others in best practices.

Certificates, licenses and registrations: • Valid Driver's License

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
