As an administrative assistant for the fibers department, you will provide comprehensive and professional administrative support services to the office of academic services, department chair, school dean, and the faculty and staff who serve within the school. Various duties include classroom scheduling, reading and routing incoming mail, composing and typing routine correspondence, preparing outgoing mail, greeting and directing scheduled visitors, ordering and maintaining supplies, and more. This role requires advanced project- and people-management skills, as many of your responsibilities will require confidentiality, accuracy, punctuality, responsiveness, and agility.
Among other duties, you will support the fibers department with academic projects and university initiatives and collaborate with the academic operations managers to help meet necessary requirements. The collaborative element expands to all units of the university, including but not limited to working on accreditation initiatives with institutional effectiveness, recruitment with admission, student matters with student success, registrar, career and alumni success, professional partnerships with SCADpro, academic content for printing and publishing and creative services, awards and rankings with institutional recognition, and more.
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
