12 Month Hourly Staff FT
This position is responsible for carrying out the daily operations of the Digital Fabrication Labs. Responsible for operating and maintaining specialized lab equipment such as 3D printing, laser cutting large format printing and laser scanning. The Lead Technician will interact with students/faculty, providing clear directions and project execution. Conduct demos and tours for the Digital Fabrication Labs, explaining the labs capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required.Familiar with digital technology equipment, techniques ie 3D printing, laser cutting and digital printing.Proficient in Rhinoceros, Solid Works and Illustrator, or similar modeling/graphics programs.Painting and finishing skills preferred.Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge a plus.Knowledge is required in the safe and efficient operation, repair, and maintenance of specialized equipment including but not limited to 3d printers, laser cutters and large format printers.
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
