As the director of SCAD Squads, you will work with other SCAD leaders to set up the matrix for how squads are assigned and a launch plan for the test program on admission’s summer programs. In this position, you are critical to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programming to support SCAD Squads’ launch and will identify

current student leaders, staff, and recent alumni to assist in the rollout and launch. Responsibilities include developing the expectation and growth opportunities for the leadership programs and overseeing the training of squad leaders and collaborating with them to set goals, plan activities, and manage logistics for events and competitions.

The director of SCAD Squads is expected to foster a positive and inclusive environment, liaise between squads and university partners to advocate for the needs and interests of squad members, promote collaboration across campus departments, and coordinate SCAD squad participation in campus-wide events. Responsibilities include managing the budget, overseeing the implementation of risk management policies and procedures, and evaluating the program’s impact through student engagement, retention, and satisfaction.

The ideal candidate can stay current on trends and best practices in student leadership development and campus programming. The director must be a self-starter with outstanding organizational and time-management skills and work well in a team environment. By launching SCAD Squads, we will be cultivating connections through curated experiences and giving students a sense of belonging before they arrive at SCAD.

Minimum Qualifications:     

  • Bachelor’s degree with related experience in events and project management with solution-based thinking
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word with excellent communication skills
  • The ability to travel to all SCAD locations and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to manage several tasks simultaneously while staying motivated, positive, and flexible
  • Vendor management experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel Required:

  • 20% to 40%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
