As a director of SCADhome communities, you will oversee the department's community development plan from concept to implementation. This includes the individual interactions model, small-scale programs, program promotions, community activations, and collaborations with faculty and staff to enhance students' residential experience. You will develop training materials and supervise and evaluate all SCADhome staff throughout the year. You will assess target areas using learning outcomes as a basis for quality assurance and create digital and print resources to assist staff in their duties (e.g., manuals, forms, a university contact list, etc.).

In this position, you will work with the SCADhome operations team to coordinate the opening and closing of residence halls, as well as check-ins and checkouts. Additionally, you will partner with the operations team to manage the housing assignment staff responsible for room changes, roommate requests, inspections, consolidations, and occupancy reports. Other responsibilities include the coordination of office participation for SCAD Days, Accepted Students Celebration, and other signature events; communications with parents, students, and university partners about residence hall policies, processes, and concerns; and collaborations with admission on summer programs. You will also monitor residence hall student conduct issues and respond as needed, regularly meet with SCAD partners to support university initiatives, and assist the executive director of SCADhome with budget preparation and management.

In this role, you will function as an upper-level hearing and investigative officer for alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct. This includes providing support for investigations and documentation, as well as adjudicating alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct. Additionally, you will manage emergencies or crises as they arise. This position is designated as essential personnel in the university's emergency disaster response plans (second-level, on-call manager). In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel must report.

Minimum qualifications:      

• Master’s degree in student affairs, leadership education, business administration, or a related discipline
• At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in collegiate student affairs, including three years in a supervisory role
• Mid-level budgeting experience 

Preferred qualifications:      

• Previous experience working within residence life or housing 

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

• Valid driver’s license

Travel required:  

•  10–20%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
