As the director, you will be responsible for the development and oversight of complex special projects and select executive administration projects. This position involves working with other teams to conceive, plan, and execute nationally and internationally visible experiential programs that showcase students and alumni. In addition, the director is responsible for establishing, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with industry icons and luminaries to create opportunities for students to engage with and learn from these individuals, as well as to enhance the reputation of the university and increase brand awareness.

In the role of director, you will develop clear, measurable outcomes for all assigned projects; ensure proper survey of projects for favorable outcomes; research and execute experiential marketing ideas, concepts, and initiatives to remain consistent with all university branding; and drive effective project leadership. You are expected to develop a clear and consistent narrative and amplification that drives brand awareness and engagement while managing production elements. Responsibilities include curating programming for SCADstyle; researching industry standards, trends, and event concepts; monitoring competitive brands to ensure SCAD remains innovative within the experimental industry; and regularly meeting with the VP for brand experience to discuss marketing projects and initiatives.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable with presenting creative ideas and solutions and displaying a wide degree of creativity and logistics experience. They should possess a strong knowledge and understanding of the university’s mission and history.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • At least six years of professional experience
  • Ability to travel internationally

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport

Travel required:

  • 20% to 40%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
