The Distribution and Receiving Specialist II in the mailroom is responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, processing, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and packages at SCAD. This critical role ensures that all mail and packages are accurately sorted and delivered to the appropriate recipients in a timely manner. The specialist plays a vital role in maintaining a smooth and organized workflow within the mailroom operations.

Duties may vary and other duties may be assigned.

• Receive and process shipments and conduct daily deliveries, Monday-Friday and some Saturdays throughout the academic year, as part of SCAD mailroom operations.

• Pickup, drop off, sort and deliver USPS mail in SCAD van on time, and as assigned to all SCAD buildings.

• Operate mailroom software and notification systems to ensure on time deliveries.

• Follow all SCAD policies and procedures. Maintain a professional appearance at all times. Adhere to all OSHA regulations and safety practices.

• Operate forklift and pallet jack safely and as directed.

• Ensure delivery vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and mechanically sound. Perform regular vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.

• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries by being courteous, friendly, and professional. Address inquiries or concerns promptly and report any issues to the supervisor.

• Maintain a safe driving record, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.

• Supervise work study students as applicable.
