As the head coach of swimming, you will communicate with students, parents, and physicians to determine student-athlete eligibility, establish procedures for injuries/emergencies, handle travel arrangements, and complete necessary paperwork. In this position you will create and implement methods to learn the potential of student-athletes and will encourage students to graduate in four years and to pursue a rewarding career. The head coach schedules competitions and well-organized practices and must maintain office hours for student-athletes to discuss any concerns. You will maintain a positive, enthusiastic atmosphere for students at all times. 

Minimum Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated commitment to student development 

  • Minimum of three years college head coaching experience in the sport of swimming with proven leadership ability and excellent communication skills 

  • Working understanding of NAIA guidelines, federal regulations, and other policies governing intercollegiate athletics 

  • Proven ability to establish and cultivate effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment 

  • Experience in fund raising in a college environment and managing budgets 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree 

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: 

  • CPR and first aid 

  • Lifeguarding  

  • USA Swimming membership or equivalent  

Travel Required: 20% to 40% 

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
