12 Month Salaried Staff FT

As a full-time coach, you will direct and coordinate all aspects of recruitment and training for the team, monitor the academic progress of student-athletes, and engage in successful relationship building with the SCAD community to nurture a positive opinion of SCAD athletics and the tennis team. You will schedule and lead practices for athletic competitions, oversee the planning and fiscal management of program activities, and advance student-athletes’ knowledge of tennis.  Among other duties, you will also establish procedures for handling injuries and emergencies and abide by all institutional and NAIA rules and regulations.



The successful candidate demonstrates a commitment to student development, as well as proven leadership skills. The ability to establish and cultivate effective working relationships is essential, as are exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred

Proven leadership ability and excellent communication skills.
Working knowledge/understanding of NAIA guidelines, federal regulations, and other policies governing intercollegiate athletics.
Proven ability to establish and cultivate effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment
2 years of intercollegiate experience as a tennis coach.
Demonstrated success in conference and post-season play
Experience in fund-raising in a college environment
Experience managing budgets
Demonstrated commitment to student development

Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED:
1-3 years intercollegiate experience as coach

Certificates, licenses and registrations:

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
