As a high rise maintenance technician and building engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the high- and mid-rise mechanical and electrical systems in the residence halls and performing general systems maintenance (i.e., light fixtures, HVAC, drain pans, drain pipes), plumbing repairs, and minor appliance repairs. Among other duties, you will schedule contractors for preventative maintenance work, perform daily building walkthroughs to assess needs for improvements, complete work order requests as assigned, maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and furniture, and be on call to handle emergencies where needed.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience and/or training
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe practices
  • Ability to lift up to 90 lbs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience maintaining high rise systems

Certificates, licenses, and registrations

  • Valid driver’s license

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
