As a SCAD housekeeper, you will be responsible for the cleanliness, friendliness, and confidentiality of the university's various accommodations. Guests range from the highest level VIPs to candidates and staff moving between SCAD locations. In this role, you will perform cleaning and housekeeping services as requested or assigned in the kitchen(s), bathroom(s), bedroom(s) or guestroom(s), laundry and storage room(s), office(s), and common areas to a provide a safe, sanitary and healthy environment for employees, students, and guests.

 

You will also report electrical, mechanical, and structural repair work to supervisor in a timely fashion; monitor and maintain custodial supplies associated with the property to which you are assigned; and ensure the proper working condition of laundry machines. You will receive guests at the door or gate of your assigned property, become familiar with SCAD policy on guest possessions and privacy, and may be asked to assist with luggage storage, laundry services, or other needs. Among other duties, you will also report and return guest property found in rooms while rending services, maintain clean and organized housekeeper shelves, and perform detail, deep cleaning as scheduled.

 

The successful candidate has an exceptional eye for the details — both big and small — as well as a commitment to professionalism and confidentiality. The candidate must adhere to SCAD policies and procedures, as well as all OSHA safety practices and regulations. A professional appearance is paramount.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two to five years related experience and/or training OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Physical strength and stamina to work extended periods
  • Working knowledge of cleaning appliances and proper use of cleaning agents

 

Certificates, licenses and registrations:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation

 

Work Hours: As noted in the Employment Agreement.
