As an industry relations manager, you will coordinate and oversee workshops and on-ground recruitment events for employers, with a focus on meticulous logistics. You will plan, organize, and execute recruitment events and professional development programs to connect students and alumni with industry representatives. Among other duties, you will collaborate with the CAS team to create engaging, informative events that facilitate valuable networking and learning. Responsibilities include working with faculty members and internal partners to strengthen relationships with various industries and identify opportunities for students and alumni. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between SCAD and industry professionals to foster partnerships that benefit both parties. 

In this role, you will maintain accurate, up-to-date records of industry partnerships, engagements, and student interactions using Salesforce and other relevant platforms. You will use SCAD 12twenty to post job opportunities, facilitate events, and ensure effective communication between students, alumni, and employers. Among other duties, you will ensure compliance with federal guidelines and university policies through well-organized student employee files. You will also prepare and deliver accurate reports and documentation as required by the CAS team. 

In this position, you will present at workshops, orientations, and informational meetings to share industry trends, career strategies, and job search techniques. You will occasionally work evenings to accommodate student needs and ensure the success of events. Responsibilities include prompt, professional responses to employment inquiries via email, telephone, and walk-in appointments and the promotion of job and internship opportunities to students and alumni, guiding them through the interview and portfolio preparation process. You will also support and guide candidates to enhance their interview and portfolio review readiness.

The ideal candidate is proficient in task management and consistently meets deadlines to deliver high-quality outcomes. They demonstrate strong presentation, organizational, and communication skills for workshops and informational meetings. The candidate pays close attention to detail and collaborates effectively.

Minimum qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience in event coordination, industry relations, career services, or a related role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other relevant software
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and travel as required

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver's license

Travel required:

  • 10–20%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
