As an industry relations program manager, you will join the office for career and alumni success (CAS), an integral department that directly supports SCAD’s mission to prepare talented students and alumni for professional careers. You will plan, host, and evaluate on-site and off-campus employer recruitment events and provide career coaching and strategic professional development programming for SCAD students. Regularly, you will post new opportunities to the SCAD Job Portal, participate in recruitment events (e.g., Out to Launch, Career Fair, etc.), and liaise with the CAS content manager and communications department to create informative materials. Among other duties, you will also liaise with employers to obtain student earnings for required reporting and present at workshops, orientations, and other informational meetings at SCAD.The successful candidate possesses superb interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, and can deliver dazzling presentations. Professional in attire and conduct, the candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to student success beyond graduation. A comprehensive understanding of the art and design job market, as well as student career development, is essential, as are excellent collaboration, leadership, project-management, and organizational skills. The candidate should thrive in team- and independent work environments and be able to meet deadlines.
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (master’s degree preferred)· One to three years of professional experience in event planning, business development, recruitment, or career services within creative industries· Ability to travel and work outside office hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed· Proficient with information-management systems and web-based technology
Certificates, licenses and registrations: - Valid driver's license and personal transportation.
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
