SCAD seeks a part-time interpreter to join its team in historic Savannah, GA.

In this role, your primary responsibility will be to provide communication access for students, faculty, and staff with hearing impairments both in and out of the classroom via interpreting, oral interpreting, and/or transliterating. You will also provide accessibility services for university departments and initiatives, including Guests and Gusto, SCAD Savannah Film Festival, AnimationFest, and more.

Minimum Qualifications:

· ASL/English fluency

· AA degree in interpreting + 4 yrs. minimum interpreting in post-secondary/education settings. Or, BA + minimum 2 years in post-secondary settings.

· Certification by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), National Association of the Deaf (NIC) and/or Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) OR successfully obtain certification within 2 years of hire.

Certificates, licenses and registrations: RID, NAD or BEI Certification OR successfully obtain certification within 2 years of hire.

Work Hours: As noted in the Employment Agreement.
