12 Month Hourly Staff FT
Manage the successful execution of SCAD’s mission statement by ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the jewelry department’s studio and facility. Maintain safe work environment for all students and faculty, enforcing studio policies and demonstrating proper use of equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: Should have a minimum of ten years’ experience working hands on in the jewelry field as a bench jeweler, technician, or educator. An advanced level of knowledge is required in the safe and efficient operation, repair and maintenance of jewelry specific equipment and procedures including but not limited to induction casting, laser and pulse arc welders, mass finishing equipment, mills, torches, electrochemical processes, 3d printing etc. Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge is required. Experience in an academic environment is a plus.
Software proficiencies:-Rhino or similar 3d modeling software- Matrix- zBrush, (Ideal but not required)- Illustrator and Photoshop.-Basic computer skills.
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
